Well..not 100% sure on actual power numbers since I was doing pulls in 4th for tuning (longer gear = easier to spot holes in the map)

However, in 4th it did 248whp and 316wtq....also found out later that it was detonating with too hot of a spark plug (hence the rebuild for this year  ) so this years numbers should be MUCH better!

how does it handle? i always liked the 280z they can look hella mean with the right parts. was it expensive to bring it this far? cause i remember a bit back u said it was a budget build i think to fulfil your need for speeeeed

a simple lip and rims and it can look soo nice http://media.motortopia.com/files/11886 ... n_lift.jpg

Well...it handled like a 27 year old car. I hadn't done much with the suspension since it was mainly used for Drag. However, I plan to lap it this year so it now has Ground Controls, Tokico Blues, Urethane Master Bushing Kit and will likely get a set of Azenis. After the motor is back in etc...it will get a half cage and harness bar.

I'm also planning to get some aluminum sheet and flatten the bottom of the car...and fab up a rear diffuser. Should help with higher speed stability. I would also like to find an old fiberglass bodykit front bumper from a 4th gen Civic...cut it up and make a front Air Dam out of it.

It is for sure a budget build...but as I get older...the budget amount changes lol.

Should be a blast on the track...and it will still be street legal so it'll be a pretty badass cruiser too...

Is it just the headgasket issue keeping you from driving it? Or other sh*t? I can give you a hand to get er back on the road...

Ouch! Ok...well that's understandable!

From what I hear a shorblock is pretty reasonable from Nissan....~$1000...

so are you going to get a used motor or get it rebuilt? im in the same boat, head gasket mashed up my motor.i found a website that sells rebuilt motors for 3200 but thats pretty pricey i think considering the rebuilt vq from them is only 500 more

I'm surprised the headgasket going did enough damage that you'd need to replace the block. Usually a quick hone and a new set of rings and connecting rod bearings will be enough...are the cylinders that badly scored?!?!
